Lord skills editor (in-place UTF-8 patch)

Finds every "levels" object with negotiation, oratory, combat, management, command, knowledge, education, and manners. Edits replace the exact substring in your file (same idea as Notepad copy-paste) so structure stays intact. Skills are clamped to 0–20.

Common questions about Norland .save files, Steam Cloud, lord skills, and keeping backups before you replace a file.

Which file should I upload?: A save from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Strategy\saves\ (usually a .save file). The editor scans UTF-8 text for "levels" blocks with all eight lord skills. Copy the file before editing.
Why must Steam Cloud be off?: If Steam Cloud sync is enabled for Norland, it can overwrite your patched file with the cloud copy when you launch or exit. Disable “Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud for Norland” in Steam → Properties → General before replacing saves.
How do I pick the right character?: Many NPCs share the same skill block shape. Use the lord name filter or dropdown — we guess a name from the nearest "name" field before each levels block. Match values to your in-game Skills sheet if unsure.
Why is the skill cap 20?: Norland hard-caps displayed skills at 20. Higher numbers in the file may cause crashes or odd behaviour. This editor clamps inputs to 0–20 and preserves the original number formatting when writing back.
